Polk State College of Winter Haven, FL has installed a new ELITE Basic ATD on campus for use in their new Aerospace Program. The trainer, a PI-135 Basic ATD, will be used for Private and Instrument courses as approved by the FAA.
“This is a great opportunity for ELITE to work with the Polk State College program in its infancy,” said Wayne Keyes, ELITE’s Director of Business Development. “As they grow their program, ELITE will be able to offer more sophisticated Advanced ATDs to meet the demands of the program—whether they use legacy-gauge equipped aircraft or glass-cockpit aircraft. We also have great rotor-wing trainers if they move into helicopters,” added Keyes.
The PI-135 is an enhanced BATD. In addition to its ELITE 430W control head and screen, it has ELITE’s Enhanced Visual System (EVS) on three 23” LED monitors, providing worldwide visual data modeled in breathtaking detail. The trainer also has full integration with the pilot’s iPad, where trainer position is displayed on charts, approach plates, and taxi diagrams.
